Adrian K. Lund is president of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IHS) and the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI). Both IIHS and HLDI are research and communications organizations dedicated to reducing deaths, injuries, and property damage on the nation's highways.
Trained initially as a psychologist, Dr. Lund has been involved in health-related research since 1975. He joined IIHS in 1981 as a behavioral scientist, becoming senior vice president for research in 1993, chief operating officer for IIHS and HLDI in 2001, and president in 2006.
Dr. Lund is a highway safety expert consulted frequently by print and electronic media reporters, Dr. Lund appears regularly on TV news magazine shows and on network news programs. He is the author of numerous scientific papers and has served on the boards and committees of many highway safety groups .
